The body of the lamp is turned on the lathe in Bubinga . The tendrils are hand carved maple steambent and formed around the base .

The shade is formed in the kiln by hand over several firings and sandblasted outside to create a soft translucent effect .

The lamp uses one bulb up to 200 watts . A brass inlay serves as a 3 way touch switch.
